There’s a terrific new book out, Breaking the Age Code, by Becca Levy PhD. Based on solid research, it is a heartening essay about how, by changing our age beliefs, we can enhance the quality of our physical, mental, and emotional health. “Age beliefs’” is a subtle concept, not stereotype, not “positive thinking,” something else!
Catherine Fuller, a fellow villager who hosts the monthly Wise Aging book club, says the book is so good that we should have a One Village One Book plan, for all to be invited to read the book and then come discuss it. September will be our first One Village One Book month! She suggests you take the age quiz at https://becca-levy.com/quiz/ before you read the book.
Join Catherine and fellow villagers on September 20 for an engaging discussion. Bring your thoughts on combating ageism! Free.
This event is sponsored by Pegasus Home Health Care, one of our valued Business Partners. Kimberly Moss, Vice President, C.O.O. of Pegasus will attend and bring sweet treats for all!
Breaking the Age Code is available to borrow through the Pasadena Public Library or from the Village Office (contact Priyanka Kumar at priyanka@pasadenavillage.org ) or for purchase at Vromans at https://www.vromansbookstore.com/pasadena-village
