This energetic group of Village Hikers meets on the second Friday. They have hiked the trails of Monrovia Canyon Park up to the waterfalls, Cherry Canyon Trails, Santa Clarita Woodland Reserve, Chantry Flats, and the forest trail along the summit of Mt. Wilson.

On Friday, May 10, at 8:00AM, our journey around the trails circling La Canada Flintridge continues with a 3.5-mile urban hike starting in the residential area south of Foothill Boulevard and heading west to Cherry Canyon.

We’ll park in the Meadow Grove neighborhood and pick up Flint Canyon Trail.  About a mile later we enter lower Cherry Canyon and walk through the oak grove, alongside a small creek, ascending to Five Points on the Seco Creek Trail.   After a water and refreshment break, we’ll loop down on Cherry Canyon Fire Road and pick up Flint Canyon Trail again, heading back to where we started.

Park near 4257 Chula Senda Lane, just before the street ends in a cul-de-sac. If heading north on the 210 Freeway, exit on Foothill Boulevard and go west (left).  At the first light, make a left onto Georgian Road and a left onto Chula Senda Lane.

Please sign up for the hike on the Pasadena Village Website.  Village Hikers - The Pasadena Village event (helpfulvillage.com).  For those who would like to carpool, we’ll meet in the Village parking lot at 7:30AM.  Please indicate if you’d like a ride or if you can drive.

Parts of the trail are uneven, rocky and degraded from runoff. Please wear your hiking shoes and bring poles for balance.  The first mile is mostly flat, with a gradual incline.  As we approach Cherry Canyon, the incline increases and is steep in a few places.  The walk from the bottom of Cherry Canyon to Five Points is a moderate uphill climb.
