Just what does a music conductor do when they stand up in front of an orchestra? When they wave their arms around, does anyone really pay attention? What makes what Bernstein and Dudamel do on the podium so special? And can someone who can’t read a note of music conduct a group of professional musicians and get away with it? (The answer is yes, and that person will be disclosed at the get together.) And yes, each attendee will get their own baton and learn how to conduct so when the LA Phil comes calling, you’ll know what to do!

Led by Bill Bing, a new member of the Village. Bill was Director of Bands at Caltech for more than forty years. He also played in the LA Chamber Orchestra and was a member of the LA Opera Orchestra. He has taught conducting at the graduate level at CSUN.
