As a follow-up to the "Great Decisions" program, the third offering in the “Current Global Events” series will be led by Dr. Kristin Shrader-Frechette. Kristin specializes in human-health risk assessment, taught Environmental Sciences, and has held senior/endowed professorships at U of California and U of Notre Dame. On September 30, she'll lead a discussion of “Food Additives and Pesticides: Protecting Yourself, Protecting Your Grandchildren." Kristin says most Americans don't realize that the US allows scores of both carcinogenic additives and no-safe-dose pesticides that are banned by China, the EU, and many other nations. As a result, the US likely has the least healthy food among wealthy nations. Before the session, participants will receive two short readings on alternative sides of this issue.
If you have any questions please contact the event organizer, Stuart Sigman.
