Why does our speech and voice change as we age?
This session will be an opportunity to identify and discuss changes in the way our speech and voice characteristics as well as our patterns of spoken communication change due to processes that naturally occur as we age. It will also provide a platform to discuss some of the common age-related health issues that affect our ability to produce and understand spoken communication. Time permitting, we can also discuss approaches to rehabilitation and remediation of some common speech communication problems.
Villager Mike Weiss, Ph.D will be presenting. He is a retired Professor from West Chester University in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
