Our hike this month is in Cherry Canyon, above Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge.   We will cover just over 3 miles.  This is considered a moderately challenging hike, with lots of interspaced uphill and downhill.  It’s a beautiful hike with great views and nicely maintained trails.

We’ll be hiking on fire roads and rocky, uneven walking paths.  Please wear hiking shoes and consider bringing hiking poles for balance.  We’ll take a refreshment break at a vista point with a picnic table.  

We will meet at 8:00AM at the top of Forest Hill Drive, where it dead-ends into the trailhead. Park on either side of the street, below the parking restriction signs near the trailhead.

If you’d like to carpool, we’ll leave the Pasadena Village parking lot at 7:45 sharp.  When you sign up, please indicate if you can drive and how many you can take.

Directions from the 210 Freeway:

Exit at Angeles Crest Highway and go south to Foothill Blvd.  Make a right onto Foothill, two lights later make a left onto Cornishon Ave.  Half a mile later, Cornishon ends at Descanso Drive, where you’ll make a right.  The next left is Padres Trail (the street sign says Padres Tr.). Drive a block and turn left onto Forest Hill Drive and wind your way up to the trailhead.
