How do you urge yourself or find the means for ins

A couple of months ago we had a good conversation about the nature and use of our imagination. I realized last week, as I was trying to get myself off the couch, that I constantly need my imagination for inspiring, envisioning, arousing passion, and stirring demand for action.  A mad dog or a mountain lion would easily stir me to action, but that’s an outside force; I’m talking about inner inertia.  What will entice and motivate me to useful action?

That’s what I want to share with you today, and ask each of you to participate by telling us how you urge yourself or find the means for inspiration to choose the “road less traveled”. My assumption is that this choice is a daily thing that’s made up of thoughts, attitude, values, and action.  It’s simple, prospective, and springs from principles.  It sounds much more complicated and “hifalutin” than it is.  And it’s intentional: we never quite get it, but we never fail it, I think.

I went looking and I found an example of it that I found simple and comprehensive.  Here are excerpts and paraphrases..
“…let me be an instrument of peace, where hatred, let me bring love “…where injury, forgiveness; where doubt, optimism; where despair, hope; where darkness, light; “…where sadness, joy; not so much seek consolation as to console; “…not so much to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; “…for it’s in giving that we receive…”

Now I’m sure you all know where that comes from, but to me it’s a good description of a road worth considering to keep getting me off the couch.  I’m sure there are many others.  I look forward to your sharing what you find gives/might give you the inspiration to fulfill your personal expectations.
