As Pasadena Villagers we have one thing in common: we’re survivors. Let’s celebrate that!

Of course, our challenges after the devastating fires are varied and many. This article will review what many of you may know or will provide some health information that I hope you find useful. Health is a huge category that includes physical and emotional. I have only touched the surface but here is some food for thought I was able to assemble from the internet from varied useful sources.

The first one listed from WelbeHealth is extremely useful, comprehensive, and helpful, focusing on Senior health, from diet and nutrition to community and emotional wellness.

Here are good guidelines from the CDC.

The next two are on air quality. The South Coast AQMD site is wonderful and worth a visit. From how to clean ash and dirt to how to wear a mask properly and other good tips.

Let’s face it, air quality is going to be problematic for a long time. Masks are essential. Consider all that has burned in houses and cars and is floating around unseen. Your eyes and lungs know it.

Pasadena residents will find this link useful with very good information for checking the status of your property, shelters, emergency housing, rebuilding resources and emotional help hotline numbers.

Finally, Pasadena Village's free resource website has up to date information on relief and recovery.

As we Villagers rebuild our lives, we have the assurance that we are in this together and are fortunate to be part of a Village of friends for added support through the short and long term challenges we face.
