Metamorphosis, a poem
By Karen BagnardPosted: 07/17/2020
Metamorphosis
I wrap my arms around my soft, round body
That has born babies and lost babies.
I raise up my arms and the painted scarf
Moves to the rhythm of the saxophone.
The road has been rough and I am weary of trouble.
My heart needs to dance and my colors sing.
I’m moving forward with resolve while not knowing
For sure where the horizon will bring me.
The power I feel is awesome while the illusion
Still holds me and breaks my heart.
I may be surrounded by a circle of friends
But I travel alone on this daring journey of survival.
