SCOTUS Discussion Judge Ketanji Jackson

Sharon Jarrett will host the meeting and lead the discussion.

The news of the week will likely have everyone thinking about the Brown Jackson confirmation hearings, therefore, I would like to suggest the following 4 questions as a frame to the discussion:

1. What do you think about the process currently in use in confirming judges? Should the process be changed, if yes, in what way?

2. What do you think of the questions asked and the demeanor of the Senators?

How might standards of conduct be introduced?

3. What did the nominee demonstrate to all in the process?

4. What can we as citizens do to improve the process? How can we as citizens be assured that nominees represent us on the bench in a way that respects the law, the community and justice?

Our meeting will take place at the usual time, the first Friday of the month at 10am Pacific. The link is our standard link and will be sent via email to our mailing list. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, send a note to [email protected].
