Pasadena Celebrates Older Americans Month 2024
By Sue AddelsonPosted: 05/01/2024
Adults continue to adjust and adapt to the various internal and external factors that come with aging. Pasadena Village is again partnering with the City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and the Senior Commission to help older adults navigate the resources that might help in this phase of life.
The upcoming event, Pasadena Celebrates Older Americans Month resource fair is a one-stop shop of resources that can help older adults do just that.
Pasadena Village is once again partnering with the City of Pasadena in hosting the third annual Pasadena Celebrates Older Americans Month on May 22 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Victory Park. The fair this year is bringing together over 50 nonprofit organizations, government entities, and businesses that provide services and resources to help seniors age gracefully and safely. These include Home Instead, Pasadena Senior Center, Friends of the Pasadena Library, AARP, Forest Lawn and Huntington Health, to name a few.
The theme of Older Americans Month this year is Powered by Connection. It recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on seniors’ health and well-being. This is something members of Pasadena Village know first-hand.
Those who live, work or play in Pasadena and the surrounding areas are encouraged to come and learn about resources that are available to them, whether they need them now or perhaps some time in the future. It’s also a unique opportunity to mingle with other older adults, enjoy free food and meet elected city officials. Several representatives will be bilingual in English and Spanish, so you can even invite a friend or neighbor to enjoy the festivities as well.
This annual event celebrates Older Americans Month. Who better to celebrate, than us?
This year's event is made possible with support from Pasadena Village, Home Instead-Pasadena, Pasadena Federal Credit Union, Villa Gardens, and other generous sponsors. Visit the Pasadena Celebrates Older Americans Month event page to view a list of the 50+ exhibitors.
