President's Message

Dear Villagers, Friends, and Supporters,

What a year it has been.

Last July, we were a community of 200—strong in spirit and united in purpose. By January, our Village had grown to 220 members, and today, we are more than 250 strong. That kind of growth is not just about numbers; it speaks volumes about what Pasadena Village means to the people who are drawn to it: a place of connection, purpose, resilience, and mutual support.

But this past year hasn’t been without its challenges. In January, the Eaton Canyon fire swept through nearby neighborhoods, deeply impacting many in our Village. About 10% of our members lost their homes, and nearly half of us were displaced—some for weeks, others for many months. And yet, the way the Village came together during that time was nothing short of extraordinary. With compassion, quick action, and incredible generosity, members, volunteers, and supporters helped raise and distribute meaningful fire relief support where it was needed most. It was a powerful reminder: Pasadena Village is more than just an organization—it’s a true community. And when one of us is in need, we all show up.

Even with those hardships, we’ve remained focused on what unites us. Together, we’ve continued moving forward with our shared vision. We made strides on our strategic goals—strengthening leadership, improving operations, and ensuring that Pasadena Village continues to reflect the heart, diversity, and vibrancy of our community. We also settled into a new office space that better fits the growing energy of our programs and the high level of member involvement that continues to inspire.

This report offers a deeper look at what we’ve accomplished this year, and a glimpse at what’s ahead for 2025–2026. We know there will be more challenges—and more opportunities—but with the continued involvement  of our community, care, and support, we’ll meet them as we always have: together.

What makes the Village thrive is not just plans or programs. It’s you—your presence, your participation, your financial generosity, your friendships, and your willingness to show up for one another. Through every twist and turn, you’ve kept the heart of the Village strong.

Thank you for walking this path with us. Here’s to continuing the journey side by side in the year ahead.

Warmly,

Dick Myers

President, Board of Directors
